Bulatović, D.
Tourism in protected natural environments can be developed only in strictly controlled and unpretentious manner. Because of this managers of these areas must reconcile two seemingly irreconcilable demands: protection of environment and on the other hand growing desire of tourist to visit these areas. Ecotourism is one of the forms of tourism, less destructive than the other are. It creates at the same time two opportunities for the development of the underdeveloped tourist areas; provides employment for local population and represent the source of funding for management of protected areas. Due to this, ecotourism has become a part of the management strategy in many protected areas. Still, there is no such thing as a unique model of ecotourism, which results in versatility of its organization on local, regional and global scale. Introduction of modern system of management in protected areas of Montenegro is till at early stage. It can be great advantage, because there are many bad examples of how things should not be done, so that Montenegro now can avoid delusions and overcome limitations in these fields in order to develop and implement a successful concept of ecotourism in protected areas. Based on the analyses of the actual condition, available potentials and modern mega trends in tourist market, in this work are presented constructive suggestions for modification of the existing and creating of the new course lines of ecotourism development in the protected areas of Montenegro.
