According to the study of the influence of compound fertilizers produced by different technologies, as well as the observation of the influence of different amounts of nitrogen and potassium fertilizers on the nitrate content in a fresh lettuce mass, we can conclude following: 1) An average nitrate content in a fresh lettuce mass has been reduced approximately by half, comparing with the measured nitrate values in a period of leaf rosette forming; 2) The lowest nitrate concentration in a technological ripeness has been recorded in the control plot and the highest has been recored in the second treatment when using the technology of compact fertilizers; 3) Depending on the applied technology of compound fertilizers, the highest average nitrate concentration in a fresh lettuce mass was gained in mixed fertilizers application, and the lowest concentration was recored in complex fertilizers usage; 4) At treatments where nitrate and potassium fertilizers were used in a nourishment a lower nitrate concentration has been recorded in a fresh lettuce mass. This shows a positive influence of potassium on nitrate building into organic nitrate compounds; 5) When we talk about nitrate content in a fresh lettuce mass in our experiment, the best results were achieved in N and K fertilizers application in quantities of 58 kg/ha N and 24 kg/ha K2O in spring, in a combination with complex fertilizers in autumn.
