The operation of a tractor is connected with a source of emissions (noise, vibration, gaseous, solid, and liquid emissions) affecting the environment where the growth of agricultural crops takes place, and thus, is linked to the quality of the final product. That is the reason why it will therefore be required to measure the amount of emissions produced per unit of production in the future, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of management, the chosen technology, and the use of agricultural engineering. The emissions produced by agricultural engineering are currently being solved with within the analysis of life - cycle of fuels and their impact on the environment, therefore, their accurate determination will bear an increasing importance. The aim of our contribution is to determine the production of selected components of tractor transportation of emissions by using data from the Can-Bus digital bus and to assess the impact of gear mode change on fuel consumption and gaseous emissions of CO and HC by tractors with a maximum engine power of 138 and 157 kW. The results also show that there is no direct relationship between the measured fuel consumption and emissions of CO and HC of tractors operating in transport. From the environmental point of view, there is a discrepancy between fuel consumption and CO2 production on the one hand, and the production of CO and HC on the other hand.
