Experiment with spring barley was realized in beet productive region in years 2005-2007. The varieties Ebson, Malz, Nitran, Ezer and Poprad were sown under the seeding rate of 4.5 mil. of germinating seeds. The following treatments of fertilization were included in the experiment: K - unfertilized control, LAV 1-20 kg per ha N in the form of ammonium nitrate with limestone applied at the beginning of tillering (BBCH 21), LAV 2-rate of nitrogen for 5 t per ha of grain yield applied at the beginning of tillering (BBCH 21), DAM 2-rate of nitrogen (in the form of liquid fertilizer DAM 390) for 5 t per ha of grain yield applied at the end of tillering (BBCH 29). Significantly highest grain yield was achieved with variety Ebson (6.76 t per ha). Within fertilization treatments the highest grain yield was gained after application DAM 390 (6.30 t per ha). Thousand kernel weight, volume weight, portion of grain above 2.5 mm sieve, crude protein and content of extract were significantly influenced by year, variety and fertilization treatment, respectively.
