This work deals with the assessment of the accuracy of orthophotos from the size of the image elemnetu having a significant impact on interpretation of individual elements and characters in the picture. At present more demands are given for digital orthoimages, mainly at their geometric accuracy represented by size of the pixel, at their radiometric resolution and spectral resolution - the number of the electromagnetic bands, what has an expressive influence on the quality and quantity of data obtained from processed images.
