In this study, we aimed to determine the presence and variations of the gene Yr10, which confers resistance to yellow rust caused by the fungus Puccinia striiformis, in Turkish bread wheat varieties. Among the yellow rust resistance genes only the sequence of Yr10 (GenBank no: AF149112) was released. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) was used to determine the presence of Yr10 in 7 different bread wheat varieties.

Bu çalısmada, yurdumuz kökenli ekmeklik buğday çesitlerinde, Puccinia striiformis mantarının neden olduğu sarı pas hastalığına dayanılıklık sağlayan Yr10 geni ve varyasyonlarını saptamayı amaçladık. Bugüne kadar bulunan sarı pas dayanıklılık genleri içinde yalnızca Yr10 geninin dizisi (Gen Bankası no: AF149112) bilinmektedir. Yr10 geninin 7 farklı ekmeklik buğday çesidinde varlığını arastırmak amacıyla Polimeraz Zincir Reaksiyonu (PCR) yöntemi kullanılmıstır.
