This document contains a selection of projects concerning East Africa (Burundi, Djibouti, Ehiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda) and is presented in 3 parts: (a) and overview of projects by research discipline; (b) and overview of projects by country; and (c) description of project-content. The Special Programme for African Agricultural Research (SPAAR) emerged as an initiative in the mid - eighties to enhance agricultural production in Africa by increasing donor co-ordination in the field of agricultural extension. The SPAAR Information System (SIS) was developed to come to grips with the increasing number of activities. At present 4000 projects are recorded in SIS.
