2011
Nguyen Van Tuat; Truong Cong Tuyen
Study on agronomic traits, quality and adaptable ability of several lines/varieties of promising sweet potato posing potential high yield and high adaptability to various growing localities including Thanh Hoa, Bac Giang, Quang Tri and Hai Duong has been performed in recent years. The result of field testing has indicated the differences between the locally breeded and imported sweet potato line/varieties in their agronomic traits, plant growth and development. The study on four experiment sites has resulted in scientific basis of cropping pattern, optimal planting date, method of selection and use sweet potato disease - free and healthy planting materials, plant care and field management, etc. In terms of the productivity the variety VC 68-2 has yielded 13.75 ton ha-1; VC 04-24 yielded from 14.94 to 21.6 ton ha-1 and VC 02-193 yielded from 13.64 to 23.6 ton ha-1. In Quang Tri site the two varieties VC 04-24 and VC 02-193 have given higher yield compared to others by 14-15%. Dry matter content has showed the high figure in the two varieties VC01 and HT2 with 35.2 and 43.7%, respectively. Other varieties with high quality index are VC 01 and VC 68-2.
