Survey of plant diversity in coastal areas of Bac Lieu province

The study on coastal plants in Bac Lieu province has identified 49 species, of which 15 species (31%) is true mangrove and 34 species (representing 69%) is associated mangrove trees belong 27 families. About 56% of life forms are trees, herbaceous plants (24%), vines (14%), shrubs (4%) and 2% are ferns. Seven species have the Important Value Index (IVI) 5% as Avicennia marina, Ceriops tagal, Pluchea indica, Derris trifoliata, Rhizophora apiculata, Ipomoea pes-caprae and Ceriops zippeliana. Hoa Binh district has the highest beta index (HB = 6.33) followed by Bac Lieu town (HB = 4.23) and lowest in Dong Hoa district (HB = 3.88).
