During the period 2009 - 2012 in the experimental field of Agricultural Institute, Stara Zagora. field experiment was conducted with the first crop silage maize. Tested the following options: 1.Without irrigation control 2. Optimal irrigation 100% irrigation rate - 60 mm 3. Irrigation in furrow irrigation with 100% rate 60 mm in each furrow 4 Each furrow irrigation . with 60% of irrigation rate 36 mm 5. Each furrow irrigation with 40% of irrigation rate 24 mm. It was found that highest yield was obtained with optimum irrigation variant var. 2) - 1506 kg / da In reducing the irrigation rate by 40% from the optimum var.4 yield decreased by 74.6%. Reducing irrigation rates leading to increased productivity of irrigation water by 1 m3 are obtained from 5, 72 to 9,79 kg dry biomass.
