The results of creation of joint corn hybrids | Результаты исследований по созданию совместных гибридов кукурузы

Maize (Zea mays) breeding in the Republic of Belarus is realized in three directions: 1 – creation of national hybrids; 2 – creation of joint hybrids with the plant breeding institutes of European countries with application of initial material from both sides; 3- creation of joint hybrids by means of their breeding in the southern regions and their selection in accordance with economically valuable traits in Belarus. The article presents the results of studies of maize selection in the central region of Belarus in 2008-2011. In course of the study there was presented yielding capacity of maize hybrids created as a result of collaborative activities: Virazh 178MV; Zaleshchitskij 191 SV; Kolo MS 280; Soyuz; Mriya MS; Maea MS; Bestseller 287; Ruzhn; Bemo 202MV; Baturin 287MV; Polesskij 185; DN Pivikha; Lyubava 279 MV. It was shown that new joint hybrids created as a result of collaborative activities with the southern CIS countries showed higher yielding capacity in comparison with the standard ones: dry matter – up to 42%, with up to 51% - in earcorns, green mass yield – up to 70%. There was presented maize yielding capacity obtained as a result of state variety testing.
