In the conditions of the natural complex the Naliboki forest reserve of the Republic of Belarus there were studied seasonal and landscape changes in structure of diets of tawny owl (Strix aluco) birds. In diets of tawny owl there were marked 26 species of preys and three prey groups (beetles, bats and birds). It was established that in the studied region the tawny owl mostly relied on rodents and small insectivores. Among all prey categories, Microtus voles were found to be mostly consumed. The following seasonal features in the tawny owl diet were reveled: Consumption of amphibians increased in the beginning of the warm season. Birds occurred more often in the tawny owl diet in the period when fledglings appeared. Portion of rodents and small insectivores decreased in the warm season. Also, it was revealed that the tawny owl diet varies much for places with different levels of anthropogenic transformation within the same terrain.
