In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented the results of the study of initial material of goat's rue (Galega orientalis L.) in a collection nursery according to the complex of economically valuable indicators, including phenotypic characteristics of variety samples. In course of the study there were analysed 16 varieties and variety samples of goat's rue. There were selected variety samples with different colouring of flower and other vegetative organs. There were established selection sources with high rates of growth, high foliage, productivity of green mass and output of dry matter. Research results showed that variety samples varied by their phenotypes, as well as by agronomic and economically valuable traits. The highest tall-growing traits were stated for variety samples BGSHA-2 and BGSHA-5 (105 centimeters). The highest yields of green mass were marjed for variety samples Nesterka, BGSHA-B, BGSHA-M, BGSHA-Eh, BGSHA-MN (10.5-10.8 kg/m2). The highest leaf formation (49.1%) was stated at variety sample KV-T. The highest dry matter content was marked at variety samples BGSHA-2 (22.5%), KV-T and BGSHA-5 (21.6%).
