In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented results of the determination of sowing terms of field pea (Pisum arvense L.) for seeds and green peas and their influence on yield of obtained products. Vegetable pea plant resistance to lodging depended on the phase of their development more than on the varietal characteristics and sowing. Lodging index of varieties ranged from 1.0 (phase of technical maturity) to 0.3 (phase of full ripeness). The degree of plant affection with Ascochyta spot and bacterial blight in average over the years of study did not exceed 21 and 14.3%. Also there was analysed economic efficiency of seed production and technical peas depending on sowing terms. There was revealed the maximum allowable terms of sowing and it was found that planting vegetable of peas from April 15 to May 31 provided cost-effective products. The duration of the interphase and vegetation periods of varieties of vegetable pea substantially depended on sowing term and on the average daily air temperature. The level of profitability in the production of seeds ranged from 125.1 to 56.5%, and commodity pea - from 183.5 to 43.9%.
