PROTEIN, AMINO ACIDS AND FAT IN GRAIN OF SOYA (Glycine max (L.) Merry) CULTIVATED IN THE EAST OF CUBA | PROTEÍNA, AMINOÁCIDOS Y GRASA EN EL GRANO DE VARIEDADES DE SOYA (Glycine max (L.) Merry) CULTIVADAS EN EL ORIENTE DE CUBA

English. El trabajo se realizó con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de la variedad sobre el contenido de proteína, aminoácidos y grasa en el grano de soya. Se utilizaron las variedades cultivadas V-6317, G7-R315, V-112 y V-70 cultivadas en un suelo vertisol. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques al azar con cuatro réplicas. Se colectaron muestras de las semillas para determinar proteína bruta (Nx6.25), aminoácidos, extracto etéreo y se estimó la valoración química de la calidad de las proteínas. Los resultados mostraron un mayor (P0.05) contenido de proteína bruta en la variedad V-112; las restantes variedades alcanzaron valores semejantes entre sí. El contenido de extracto etéreo se comportó similar en todos los casos. Se observó variación en la composición aminoacídica (g/16 de N). Los mayores valores de lisina, cistina, treonina y leucina se alcanzaron en las variedades G- 7R315 yV-112 con diferencias significativas (P0.05) respecto a las dos restante. Los resultados más bajos de metionina, treonina, arginina, isoleucina y glicina se obtuvieron en la V-112. Los valores de cistina y triptófano se manifestaron bajos en todos las variedades evaluadas.

Spanish; Castilian. The work was conducted with the aim of evaluating the effect of cultivar on the protein, amino acid and fat content in soya grains. The V- 6317, G7-R315, V-112 and V-70 cultivars were grown on en vertisol type soil. Four replications per variety were used following an at random block design. Samples of seeds were collected for determining crude protein (Nx6.25), amino acids and ether extract as well as the chemical evaluation of protein quality. The results showed a greater (P0.05) crude protein content in V-112 cultivar; the others reached similar values among them. The ether extract content was similar in all cases. A variation in amino acid composition (g/16 g N) was observed. Highest values of lysine, cystine, threonine and leucine content were obtained in G7-R315 and V-112 with significant (P0.05) differences with respect to the other two. The lowest value of methionine, threonine, arginine, isoleucine and glycine content were encountered in V-112 cutivar. Cystine and tryptophan values were low in all cultivars. In summary, the studied varieties have favourable protein, amino acid and ether extract levels. More studies in this direction are suggested to be undertaken.
