Effectiveness of certain wild plant extracts as insecticides

Twelve plants extracts were studied for the evaluation of their bioactivity as insecticides. The tested plants were Ratam (Lygos raeturn), Qozzah (Pituranthos tortuosus), Akaash (Atractylis carduus), Rabol (Pulicaria undulata) , Harmal (Peganum harmala), Ratrayt (Zygophyllum decumbens), Balbal (Zygophyllum coccinenm), Besilla (Zilla spinosa) , Shokaah (Fagonia mollis) , Shagaret-elsakraan (Hyoscyamas muticus), kabaare (Launiaea spinosa) and Kebath (Cappris oriantallis). Effects of the petroleum ether and methanol extracts of these plants were studied against the cotton leaf worm Spodoptera littoralis and the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum. All extractions were tested under laboratory conditions to evaluate toxic and repellence activities against the two tested insects. The obtained data showed that Ratrayt plant extracted by methanol was the most toxicant against Tribolium .castaneum , whears the Harmal and Rabol plants extracted by methanol were the most toxic effects on Spodoptera littoralis. Regarding the repellence effect, Besilla plant extracted by methanol indicated the highest repellence effect against Tribolium castaneum, followed by the petroleum ether extract of Shagaret- elsakaran. The Shokaah plant extracted by petroleum ether had the most repellency effect against Spodoptera littoralis. We showed scattered the generated cells from its place and reproductive in epithelial cells and necloes. Recorded necrosis for circular, longitudinal cells and scattered them from its place and destructive for epithelial cells. Recorded the Harmal plant the prefered results and Rtrayat plant in case of formulation.
