In order to evaluate the effect of plant space on quantitative yield of promising grain sorghum lines, an experiment was conducted as split-plot design on randomized complete block design with three replication at experimental field of Seed and Plant Improvement Institute located in Karaj at 2009.In this study plant space were considered as main plot in three levels (8 , 10 , 12 cm) and lines as subplot in four levels (KGS27 , KGS32 , KGS19 and KGS23).During growth season some traits such as plant hight , number of leaf per plant , length of panicle , number of shoot per panicle , area of flag leaf were measured on five random plants .after harvesting grain yied and 1000 grain weight determined .The results showed that grain yield and yield components but 1000 grain weight in different spaces were not significant difference .Mean comparison of plant spaces showed that plant space of 12 cm with 8280.6 kg/ha was the best treatment.Lines for grain yield were not significant difference too.The line of KGS32 with 8596.3 kg/ha was the best line. The interaction of line "e plant space were significant difference at 1٪ level. The line KGS23 "e plant space of 12 cm whith 9716.7 kg/ha showed the highest grain yield .The results indicated that the line of KGS32 and plant space of 12 cm were the properest line and plant space.
