Complementary evaluation of resistance sources to yellow rust (Puccinia striiformis f.sp. tritic1) in selected Iranian wheat landraces

Seventy-three accessions of wheat collection of Iranian Plant National Gene Bank were evaluated in experimental yellow rust nursery of Karaj and Sari during field season of 1385-86. The reaction of the genotypes to different pathotypes of the fungi isolated from Gargan, Mashad and Sari were also evaluated at seedling stage in green house. Under field condition in karaj 35.6% of lines were resistant (R), 31.5% of lines were moderately resistant (MR), 2.8% of lines were intermediate (M), 21.9% of lines were moderately susceptible (MS) and 8.2% of lines were susceptible (S). Filed results in Sari showed that 30% of lines were immune (0), II % of lines were resistant (R), 29% of lines were moderately resistant (MR), 29% of lines were moderately susceptible (MS), and I % of lines were susceptible (S). Green house assay indicated that 8, 25 and 13 genotypes had high level ofresistance to Gargan, Sari and Mashad isolates respectively.
