Evaluation of different generation of late and medium maturing maize germplasm

In order to evaluation of maize germplasm and producing new inbred lines, 65 segregating populations in S5 and S6 stages were studied in Karaj. Each line, planted in 6 m rows, 20 em between plants within rows. Male and female flowers of selected plants in each generations, isolated using paper bags, and then selfed. During growing season, lines and plants within each line evaluated for stand ability, fertilization, flowering time and to be clean from diseases, and re-evaluated at harvesting. Maximum 5 plants from each row were selected. Ten promising lines from different sources were selected for further study.
