In 2009 a field trial with artificial inoculations was conducted in order to evaluate efficacy of fungicide flutriafol in control of sugar beet leaf spot caused by Cercospora beticola. Sugar beet was inoculated with isolates that were resistant and sensitive to flutriafol and effect of chemical protection with this fungicide was observed. The highest disease intensity was detected in plots inoculated with both resistant and sensitive isolates without fungicide control and in treatment with inoculation with resistant isolates plus fungicide treatment. The sugar content was significantly higher in plots inoculated with sensitive isolates protected with flutriafol.
