In the production of some flower species are often used growth regulators which application has purpose to reduce height of plant, and to achieve a compact plant form. This paper presents the results of influence of growth regulator Alar, Cycocel and maleic anhydride on the development parameters of marigold. The study was conducted under controlled conditions in greenhouse located in Sarajevo. The following parameters of growth and development were studied: plant height, stem diameter, diameter of flower and number of flowers per plant. The results showed that all growth retardants showed a statistically significant influence on reducing plant height in comparison with control variant, and the highest effect was achieved in variant with Alar. In this research did not determined statistically significant differences in diameter and number of flowers per plant, regardless of the variant of experiment, which indicates on appropriateness of use applied growth regulators in the cultivation of marigold.
