This study was conducted at the Gezira Research Station (Sudan) during 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons. It targeted the quantification of prevalence of the citrus leafminer, Phyllocnistis citrella, on lime (Citrus aurantifolia) and grapefruit (c. paradisi) trees, and the determination of the efficacy of the petroleum spray oil (D-C Tron® Plus), carbofuran, thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate, malathion and acetamiprid for its control. The pest recorded vast and pandemic distribution throughout the Gezira State, at almost 100% level of incidence on both lime and grapefruit trees. The (D-C Tron® Plus) at 0.625% (v/v), carbofuran at 0.125 g (a.i.)/seedling, thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate at 0.05% g (a.i.), malathion at 2.5% g (a.i.) and acetamiprid at 0.07% g (a.i.) proved high prophylactic effects against the pest. Moreover, the tank mixtures of the D-C Tron® Plus at 0.625% (v/v) with each of thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate, malathion and acetamiprid at their corresponding rates showed high prophylactic and therapeutic effects against P. citrella and offered longer lasting control of the pest
