During the height of the debate on the future form of the EU CAP for the period 2014-2020 we consider it necessary to point out its impacts on agriculture and rural development so far. The results of the propensity score matching application illustrate possibilities of the progressive solutions concerning the assessment of effectiveness and efficiency of policy measures and tools. Those results also provided significant knowledge in regard to impacts of the CAP measures within the scope of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013, such as an increase in differentiation between beneficiaries and control group of supported and unsupported farms and hence their prospects in the next programming period.
