[Effects of In Ovo Feeding on Hatchability and Body weight of Chicks and Productive Parameters of Broiler Chicken]

The research was conducted using 600 broiler hatching eggs were taken from a 33 weeks age parent stock. Eggs were distributed in 5 groups (30 eggs per replicate) with an average egg weight (55±1)g. Eggs were inserted in an aur streamer sitter. In day 17.5 of incubation eggs were candled and then eggs containing viable embryos were injected with different in ovo feeding solutions as follows (0.8 ml per egg) with 23 ga needle: _ Group 1: Un injected eggs (control). _ Group2: 0.9 NaCl solution. _ Group3: 2% glucose and 3% maltose in 0.5 NaCl . _ Group4: 2% glucose and 6% maltose in 0.5 NaCl . _ Group5: 2% glucose and 12% maltose in 0.5 NaCl . In ovo feeding solutions were prepared in The National Commission for Biotechnology (NCBT). The At day 21.5 of incubation, chicks from each replicate were taken off, weighed and the hatchability was calculated. Chicks of each group reared until the age of 42 days. Results demonstrated that: - In ovo feeding treatments had no effects on hatchability, body weight of hatchling and relative weight of chick to the weight of egg. - Body weight of in ovo fed hatchlings was greater than controls (P0.05) at age of 7 days, which was (115.7g) in compaction with control (108.8g). - In ovo feeing treatments enhanced the final body weight of birds at age 42 days and the feed conversion ratio. - In ovo feeding treatments significantly (P0.05) reduced the total consumed feed at age 42 days.
