Factors related to success in nile tilapia raising of farmers in San Sai district, Chiang Mai province

Findings showed that experience of nile tilapia culture, fish pond size, number of fish ponds, debt and contact with fish worker of fish culture club were positively correlated to the success of nile tilapia culture (Oreocromis niloticus) of farmer. Whereas, the total family income was negatively correlated to the success of Nile tilapia culture. Problem and obstacle of farmers were expensive fish feed, low contact with fisheries officer and farmers using indigenous technology. Recommends were fisheries officer should provide knowledge on new nile tilapia culture technology to fish farmers.
