The article aims at analyzing and comparing the values of some important economic indicators of the development of agriculture in four countries in the EU - Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary and France. The research is focused on labor force, farm income, production and trade structure and the development of organic farming. The data show that Bulgaria is still behind compared not only to the rest three countries but to the average level in the Union.
