Effectiveness of swine production depends on many factors, the most important of which is animals' health status. Helminth appears dangerous pests of animals, causing metabolism irregularities, declining immunity level, breaking down hormone synthesis, reducing hemoglobin and erythrocytes number and declining natural disease resistance. The article presents the results of studying the influence of strongylus on the indices of blood serum of pigs under experimental infection. The basic hematological indices, lysozyme and bactericidal activity of blood serum, protein and protein fractions content are researched. The following conclusions are made: strongylus cause deep abnormalities in organisms of piglets, declining albumin and globulin indexes, erythrocyte number, hemoglobin and protein content, worsening metabolic processes, deteriorating immune protection. Strongylatosis promotes withdrawal of animals and causes large economic damage.
