In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was determined the efficiency of application dietary energy by bull calves in case of introduction of different selenium forms into their rations. Research results proved positive influence of different selenium doses on (0.1; 0.2; and 0.3 mg of sodium selenite per 1 kg of dry matter of a ration). Application of selenium in combined fodder KR-1 in the amount of 0.2 mg per 1 kg of dry matter of the ration increases the conversion of energy into produce by 3.8% and average daily weight gains of calves by 14.1%. Energy expenses per 1 MDj of weight gain lowered by 13%, forage expenses – by 10%. Introduction of selenium made it possible to render positive influence on oxidation-reduction processes that was proved by blood morphological analysis. At the same time there was marked the increasing of concentration of total protein in blood serum by 7.4%, and carbamide content – by 17.2%.
