In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was analysed the influence of disintegration ability of protein in rations on the processes of fermentation in rumen of young cattle. We have established that feeding calves in the age of 3–6 months with 70% protein disintegration rations helps to reduce the accumulation of ammonia in rumen liquid by 20.6 %, activation of VFA synthesis – by 16.5%, to increase the number of ciliates by 15.9%, general and protein nitrogen – by 7.2 and 8.0%, to reduce fodder consumption and exchangeable energy by 5.0%. In case of application of rations with fermentative ability of protein 60-65% there was marked the increased accumulation of ammonia by 6.1-12.6% with the inhibition of growth of the number of infusorium cells, formation of a complex of VFA, general and protein nitriogen.
