2012
Rubina, M.V., Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine (Belarus)
In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented results of research into the keeping of calves by one and by two in stalls and 'cold' method of their growing. The maintenance of animals per two in a cage and in the "cold" way was more efficient, than individual. The average daily increase of calves in the 2nd group where animals housed per two in a cage was higher than in the 1st group on 0,5%, as well as higher than in the 3rd group where animals were kept outside on 6,3%. In the best housing conditions calves grew quicker therefore at the expense of extra live weight gain and saved forage use it was possible to obtain extra profit.
