Chinese.

[Objective] The purpose of this study was to investigate the distribution pattern of a- bove-ground biomass and culm form characteristics of B. bZurneana, which may be helpful to pro- vide a theoretical reference and data support for its development and utilization. [Method] The in vestigation method of Phyllostachys pubescens and statistic software of SPSS were used in this study. [Results] Among the above-ground organs, the moisture content of leaves (49.8%) were much higher than those of other organs. Culm dry biomass was 73.5 %, which was much greater than those of branches (15.1%) and leaves (11.4%). The indicators of culm characteristics in this study mainly included culm height, diameter at breast height (DBH), culm weight, culm ta- per, wall thickness and internode length. The model of culm height (y/m) to DBH (x/cm) was y =-0.4197x2+9.0749x-27.817 (R2=0.9586). The model of fresh culm weight (y/kg) to DBH (x/cm) was y=0. 145 4x24616(R2 =0. 970 3). The model of wall thickness (y/cm) to culm height (x/m) was y = 0. 989 7x175 (R2= 0. 971 7). [Conclusion] Blomass distribution pattern and culm form characteristics were important indicators which determined the direction of utilization and processing. This research provides a theoretical reference for the development and utilization of B. blumeana.
