This paper describes biological properties of Venice mallow Hibiscus trionum L., an important weed species under Central-European climatic conditions of Slovakia, especially concerning southern regions of the country where sugar beet is planted. There are also outlined specifics for agronomical and herbicidal management of sugar beet stands against the Venice mallow.
