Mais il s'agit en fait d'une tranche de vie professionnelle d'une quinzaine d'années d'un éthologiste passionné et passionnant. Durant cette période, Gérard Coureaud, chargé de recherche au CNRS au sein du Centre des Sciences du Goût et de l'Alimentation (CSGA) de Dijon, en collaboration avec son plus fidèle compagnon, le lapin, a découvert une phéromone de mammifère, la phéromone mammaire (2M2B), et ne cesse depuis de l'étudier pour en révéler tous les secrets. Une démarche qu'il poursuit aujourd'hui, en particulier à travers MEMOLAP, un projet labellisé par VITAGORA et financé dans le cadre de l'appel à projet Jeunes Chercheurs de l'Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR). L'objectif de ce projet dont il est le responsable scientifique est de mieux comprendre comment le jeune organisme traite, perçoit et répond de façon adaptée à une information olfactive plus ou moins complexe en lien avec son comportement alimentaire.
