In order to study the effect of supplementary and withought irrigation on yield, yield components and vegetative traits of canola (Brassica napus L.) spring type genotypes in Gonbad area, 14 canola spring type genotypes (Hyola401, Hyola420, Hyola 308, Hyola50, Hyola432, Hyola4815, RGS003, L5 (Behbahan), L6 (Zabol), L7 (Varamin), Og1, Og2, Og14 and k3) were planted as a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 3 replications. The experiment was conducted at two separate conditions of supplementary irrigation (irrigation at flowering+seed filling stages) and without irrigation (rainfed). The mean of pod number per plant, seed number per pod and 1000-seed weight of studied genotypes in supplementary irrigation condition were more than those of without irrigation condition. In both years of the study, the effect of genotype was significant on seed yield, whereas the effect of irrigation on seed yield was only significant in first year of the experiment. The mean seed yield of studied genotypes in supplementary and withought irrigation conditions was 2960 and 2686 kg/ha in 2010-2011 and 1812 and 1712 kg/ha in 2011-2012, respectively. It seems that the specific weather condition of second year of the experiment, such as low air temperature during vegetative growth conditions of canola and the occurrence of high rainfall during crop growth duration was the main factor that caused the effect of irrigation on seed yield was not significant in second year of the experiment. Hyola50 (3220 kg/ha) in 2010-2011 and Hyola401 (2060 kg/ha) in 2011-2012 had the highest seed yield, respectively. The result of this study showed that Hyola50 hybrid can be recommended to cultivate in the area with Hyola401 and Hyola420 hybrids and OP variety of RGS003
