Study of VA mycorrhizal fungai spore communities and correlation with physical and chemical properties of soil

Ecological studies in soil microbiology are basic studies in agricultural sciences and mycorrhizal fungi are important factor in sustainable agriculture. Arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi dispersion were quantified at different site and farms in east Azarbaijan. Soil samples were collected from different site (0-30 cm soil depth). These samples were air- dried, homogenized and sieved (2 mm) in greenhouse prior to use. Resultes show that, arbuscular mycorrhiza population (Number of spore in 100 gr dry soil) have significant differences between farms. Among the farms, rainfed wheat (569), irrigated wheat (873) and potato farms(460) had higher population, meliloti farms (196) and orchard (330) had lower population.Organic carbon percen,total nitrogen and soil available phosphorus and potassium haven't any correlation with fungi population. Only irrigated farms have significant positive correlation (r2 = 0.5) between silt percent and number of spore. We found that, mycorrhizal fungi activity is influenced by plant species and cultural conditions.In crop management, notic to mycorrhiza symbiosis and try to find suitable methods that can prevent decrease of fungi population in agricultural soils is necessary. Also trape culture was done on soil samples with trifulium and corn. Plants were grown in greenhouse for 10 monthes (5 monthes corn, 5 monthes trifalium). Mycorrhizal fungi communities increased in this period and then monospecific culture was done on samples with sorghum for 4 monthes. Upper parts were taken after this period and pot cantents as inoculum were mixed througly and placed in plastic bag for next testing.
