Evaluation of some selected quality rice lines in preliminary yield trial

Grain quality in rice is highly important. This experiment was performed in the experimental field of the Rice Research Institute of Iran, Deputy of Mazandaran, Amol with 2 controls (Iranian cultivars Fajr and Sherode in a randomized complete block Design with 3 replications with a spacing of 25Ã25. Studied traits included plant height, number of days to 50% flowering, tillering ability, 1000 grains weight, number of full and empty grains, total number of spikelets and kernel yield (L.S.D= %5). WAS5216 was selected for high yield and grain quality.
