In order to studying effects of foliar application of free amino acid on the quality and quantity on promising line of forage cross under dryland condition, one experimental field carried out based on RCBD as factorial design with two factors included: Amino acid use (A factor), time of Amino acid application(B factor). Amino acid formulation use included four liquid formula (Aminolforte, Kadostim, Fosnutren and Humiforte) with free amino acids and with one control level. Time of amino acid application (seeding stage, awn/spike appearance, flowering stage and seeding stage, awn/spike appearance, flowering stage). This experiment was conducted in Inseptisols soil of Maragheh agricultural research station for two years (2009-2011) with three replications. Soil samples were taken for physico-chemical analyses from 0-30cm depth in the sowing time. Plant samples were collected for physico-chemical analysis, determination of N and P absorption percent by plant. Plant samples were collected for chemical analysis, determination of N, P, K absorption percent by plant and protein percent of seeds. Results of analysis variance showed that the main effects of amino acid application on dry matter K content was significant at 1% statistical level, Olso the main effects of time of amino acid application on dry matter N and P were significant at 5% statistical level. Interaction effect of free amino acid and time of amino acid application on dry matter P and K percent were significant at 1% statistical level. Mean comparison treatments on grain yield based on Duncan indicated showed that the highest grain yield 592.5 kg.ha-1 belonged to(Aminol forte + time of seeding stage, awn/spike appearance, flowering stage treatment compared with control without amino acid were it increased 220 kg.ha-1. Data showed that the result the highest dry biomass yield 3555 kg.ha-1 belonged to(Aminol forte + time of seeding stage, awn/spike appearance, flowering stage treatment compared with control without amino acid were it increased 998 kg.ha-1.
