Previous researches have demonstrated the higher cold tolerance in Hungarian vetch (Vicia panonica L.) comparing the other spices of vetches. In the limitation and lack of variation in present Hungarian vetch in the country, it is clear that creation of variation through hybridization could provide selection possibility in the cold dryland conditions. Hybridization was conducted between 6 selected lines of Hungarian vetch and 40 seeds were produced in 18 pods which were studied along with the parents in the second year. The seeds produced from self-fertilization of each F1 plant were collected separately for next evaluations.
