Horticulture industry in Latvian is relatively small, but it is capable of producing products with high added value and are able to be profitable, provided that all of the successful horticulture production conditions . Statistics show that the 2012th year 19 ha were grown to several million flowers per unit of production , with total sales revenue was close to 2.7 million , excluding value added tax. As shown by Latvian Central Statistical Bureau of the data collected, from 2010th to 2012th year total horticulture production area set aside for the production did not exceed 19 ha. Most of the area occupied by perennials plants (63081 m2), which is connected both to the flower-growing agro species, both plants were profitable. The biggest perennials plants growing farm production has been successfully exported to other countries, thereby increasing their competitiveness in the Latvian market. Currently, Latvian, most floricultural sector farms are small or medium size; it covered an area of average 500 - 1500 m2. Most farms are small family businesses, which often employ only family members and are involved in seasonal work and seasonal workers.
