Study the usable forage of range plants in key rangelands of 5 bioclimatic zones of Iran

The ata of allowable use of key and the most important rangeland species for determination of rangeland capacity is necessary. For determination actual capacity of rangeland species is having value the exact this factor.with the actual capacity to prevention damage of vegetation cover, soil and water resources in rangeland lands. For determination of rangeland capacity In this research the species of Agropyron intermedium, Artemisia aucheri , Bromus tomentelus , Dactylisglomerata, Festuca ovina and Thymus kotschyanus which are the key and most important species in Mountain site Alamut Qazvin rangelands were investigated. First of area with suitable condition were selected and enclosed in the first year. Then 40 individuals plant were selected from each species and treated with 4 treatments including 25%, 50% and 75% harvesting with one background sample (each 10 individuals with one treatment). The harvesting was done monthly in grazing season of this area. The influence of harvesting were determinate with study the changing of phenological and seed characteristics, forage production, vigurity condition and other characteristics of selected plant species. The results showed that the 75 percent harvesting of plant species causes deterioration of vegetation and vital abilities for all species. The allowable use of 25% for two species of shrub Artemisia aucheri and Thymus kotschyanus and the allowable use of 50% for 4 species of wheat, including; Agropyron intermedium , Bromus tomentelus , Dactylisglomerata and Festuca ovina were adequate with the least negative effects on the characteristics of plant and vital capacity.
