Study of spring safflower lines for seed yield in shahdad region.

A field experiment was carried out in Kerman gricultural Research Center to evaluate five spring safflower ( Carthamus tinctorius L. . The experiment was conducted as a RCBD with four replications in 2004- 2006. Necessary notes including plant height, height of primary branch, number of branches per plant, stem diameter, number of heads per plant and number of seeds per head were recorded during plant growth. Seed yield and 1000- Seed weight were determined after harvesting. Results showed that the highest seed yield ( 3330 kg/ha) was obtained from the I.L.111. Seed yield and yield components were significantly affected by planting dates. Row distances.
