Ewes' age and morphometric characteristics of placenta

Biological age of females is one of the dominant factors, which determine not only the rates of individual development, but also the high-grade realization of its reproductive potential. However, it is not yet formed a consensus on the most rational age periods for the forecast of complete realization of the maternal organism reproductive properties. A series of experiments conducted on the ewes of the Caucasian breed revealed the specificity of morphometric parameters changes (weight of placenta, number of cotyledons, the distance between them and the average area of cotyledons) of placenta, depending on the age of the maternal organism.
