According to ministry of health in iran yearly more than 30000 of cancer patients die and about. The main factors in induction of cancer are thought to be emitted rays like UV, chemical carsinogens, and viral agents. From 1940 to 2007 about 155 cytotoxic molecules are recognized out of which 47 % of them are natural . in recent decades the cytotoxins from snake venom and scorpion venom are studied by research workers. Our previous works on ICD-85 clearly showed its cytotoxic effect on MDA-MB231cells . The active fractions of ICD-85 is composed of 3 peptides with molecular weight of 10000 to 30000 derived from snake and scorpion venom. In the present study Hela cells was selected as cancer cells the cytotoxic effect of the ICD-85 was evaluated on thes cells . the IC50 was calculated and capase-8 enzyme was determined. On the other hand the cells were inoculated to nude mice and the zenographt was carried out with 6 more mice. The tumor bearing mice were injected with ICD-85 intratumorally and intrapritonial rout. The results indicated that ICD-85 has cytotoxic effect on Hela cells with IC50 of 28 microgram /ml. Determination of caspase-8 also showed the induction of apotosis in cells. ICD-85 injection intratumorally showed inhibition of tumore growth in these mice while the intrapretonial injection of ICD-85 did not prevent the growth of tumor in nude mice. It seems the limited number of mice was the cause of these results.
