The basic role of overwintered adults of Sunn pest is considerable due to its economic importance (quantitative damage in per-mating and pre-oviposition period) and consequences of its generation (nymphs and new adults) that cause qualitative damages. The complexity of the pest behavior in the field specialy direct effect of climatic factors such as coldness, rain and wind and also long immigration period, in most cases, confronts us with un useful and un effective overwintered chemical control. In the study being carried out, we try to design the pest chemical management through overwintered control based on understanding the role of temperature and other factors on Sunn pest development and behavior. Here, it is shown that among food (wheat or barley), pest and parasite (Trissolcus spp.), Sunn pest has stronger negative correlation (more sensitive) with the minimum of daily temperature as an index of cold weather. Climatic condition has direct effect on Sunn pest development and life cycle and indirect effect on triangle of pest, food and parasite correlation. Critical point in timing of insecticide application is to know the time and number of peaks of pest immigration which is related to climatic factors in the field and mountain. In timing of pesticide application against overwintered adults, we proposed 2 main factors. It should be based on: -The density of pest population in the field at early season (advance immigrated population). -understanding the period of activity of hymenopyerous parasites in the field. The result of this project supposed to be the base for 3 other projects being carried out as the components of research plan: sunn pest strategy. : Abstract
