This research was conducted to evaluate 100 safflower genotypes as simple lattice design under cold rainfed conditions. All genotypes were fall planted and some characteristics including green stand percent during autumn and spring, number of heads per plant, number of seeds per head, hundred kernel weights and grain yield were recorded. A lot of genotypes were lost because of severe cold and the remained genotypes were studied using regression analysis in unbalanced conditions. There was significant differences between genotypes regarding number of heads per plant, plant height, green stand during spring and grain yield and 36 gentypes were selected for further investigations in fall planting under cold rainfed conditions.
