Preliminary Evaluation of Sesame lines.

In Order to detennine high yield sesame lines 49 genotypes including: pur lines obtained from landreces germplasm and segregating populations, were evaluat in a lattice design with two replication in Karaj , Dezful , Darab , Jiroft and Borazjan. Each polt was consisted of four 5 meter rows spaced in 60 cm with intra-row spaced set on 10-15 cm . Important breeding and characteristics such as : date of flowering, type of branching, number of capsule per axil, number of capsules per plant, plant height and date of preliminary maturity were recorded. Analysis of variance was carried out for yield , number of capsules per plants, plant height and oil percentage. The highest seed yield were observed from: Genotypes mumber 40 ) 28 and 26 with 1205 , 997 and 825 kglha respectively in Karaj . Genotypes number 39 , 25 and 24 with 1884 , 1504 and 1291 kglha respectively in Dezful . Genotypes number 40 , 6 and 14 with 2313 , 2203 and 2027 kg/ha respectively in Jiroft . Genotypes number 37 , 32 and 31 with 2912 , 2627 and 2571 kglha respectively in Darab . Genotypes number 18 , 49 and 44 with 2376 , 2066 and 1990 kg/ha respectively in Borazjan .
