Yield trial of exotic maize hybrids.

A number of J 7 foreign maize hybrids in two category of maturity, (J 0 hybrids were FAO 200-300 and 7 hybrids were 400-500 FAO maturity groups) were evaluated in two separate experiments and 3 environments (Karaj, Esfehan and Mashhad) in 2003. The expedmental design used was a randomized complete block with three replications in each environment. The experimental unit was two rows spaced 75cm apart. Yield (Objected to %14 kernel moisture) and yield component were measured at harvest time. According to the result of combined analysis of variance, in maturity groups of F AO 200-300, two hybrids (BC 304 and K SC 302) showed the highest mean yield (respectively 12.77 and 12.33 tlha) and in maturity groups of FAO 400-500, BC 404 produced the highest mean yield (J2.92 tIha). Some hybrids that performed better than the check were selected for next evaluations
