Effects of plants oil, curing and shrink wrapping on storage life of valencia and local oranges

The effects of essential oils (Niglia sativa, Amygdales scoparia, Dinthus sP, Zingier officinale, Thymus vulgaris), curing and shrink wrapping on the storage life of Valencia and Local Oranges were investigated. Mature fruits of the oranges were obtained from orchards in Bam and Jiroft and examined with the treatments. The results showed that shrink wrapping were reduced the weight losses. Nigilia sativa zingiber officinale and dinthus sp oils improved the appearance of the oranges compared to the other treatments. The highest hardness was observed in combined treatments with zingiber officinale, curing and shrink wrapping as a result the combined treatment of zingiber officinale oil with curing and shrink wrapping and also Thymus vulgaris oil with curing and shrink wrapping can be recommended in respect to decay prevention and economic evaluation.
