Effect of Cultivar and Rhizobium meliloti strain on growth and N2 fixation of Medicago sativa in Bushehr Provice.

In this project effect of Rhizobium meliloti strains on nitrogen fixation and growth characteristic of Bushehr native Medicago sativa was studied. Two native Medicago species and two Medicago species that obtained from Tehran were inoculated with strains 1,2,3,4. Seeds that planting in and inert material (quartz) and seeding were inoculated with Rhizobum watered with nitrigen free Hogland nutrient solution. Control post seeds were not inoculated with Rhizobum strain and watered with 1 milimolar nitrat notrient solution. Effects of Rhizobum strains on stem dryweight,root dryweight and nodule number were significant (P 1 %). The best symbiosis resulted from M.polimorpha.T with strain 1. The highest stem dryweight,root dryweight and nodule number was resulted from same relationship.
