Study of promising rice lines in yield trial.
2006
Bagheri, Mohamad mehdi
The objective of this study was to select the high yielding rice genotypes with elit morphological and quantitative and quality triats .selected lines will be evaluated in rice farming areas of Fars or other provinces in more advanced studies. Genetic materials of this research were a total of 30 treatments, containing 28 promising rice lines which were selected in preliminary yield trial of last year and Doroudzan and G16 pure line as check varieties. The treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications in 2003 at kushkak station of Fars agriculture and natural resources research center. Pure lines were transplanted in 6.72m2 (8 Χ21 hill ) plots with 20 cm Χ 20cm. plant spacing. Macro nutrients on the basis of recomended formula of soil analysis (N=150, P2O5 =45, K=0 kg/ha), prepared from urea and amonium phosphate and were used in all plots. The result of yield analysis showed a significant difference between the pure lines. So the mean values of plot yield were compared with DMRT and the result showed that 25 lines with yield of 4.9 to 7.6 t/ha were located in first group of Duncan test. Among these lines, 12 lines which were acceptable in the case of yield and morphological triats such as plant height, tiller number, panicle length, number of grain per panicle, and also quality traits such as amylose content, gelatinization temperature and gel consistency, were selected. Keywords: Rice, yield, morphological triats, quality.
